Pure Nabs Stetson

While this didn’t arrive in time for this morning’s push of local agency news, we decided not to wait until next Friday to announce that Denver-based Pure has been retained by NYC based Stetson, the national licensor of head wear, apparel, and fashion.

Definitely an exciting score for one of our favorite home-grown teams. Congrats guys, and keep us in the loop as this relationship begins to flourish.

  10. This great win underscores the flip side of Denver’s cow town image – western heritage. I thought it was funny when I first heard Elton John talk about his and Bernie Taupin’s adoration of the American West and why they wrote so many songs about our part of the country. Maybe we should embrace our heritage more fully – it’s a deep rooted part of our brand and something we definitely own. A lot has been said about how Crispin tends to take brands back to their roots – The King, the 30 minute guarantee – we should take a page from their playbook. Look at what Pure already did for Wyoming – it was authentic and made you want to go there, unlike the crappy Colorado tourism work. We’ll never be LA or New York and since these places already exist, why would anyone want a smaller copy?

Just my $.02. And mazel tov to Dan, Gregg and everyone at Pure.

  11. Thanks for the words of encouragement from all. Eric, our locale definitely played a key role in this win. We were approached as a shop with a new western perspective—it’s the only time I can remember that we actually had an advantage over NYC shops.
