Did CP+B Go Shopping?

A little birdie told a medium-sized birdie who told our big, fat receptionist downstairs who looks like some kind of prehistoric birdie that Crispin Porter + Bogusky has acquired texturemedia.

We poked a few people up there this morning about it, but haven’t heard back. Anyone care to confirm or deny? If it is true, it’s an extremely bold statement about the powerhouse that texturemedia has become.

  3. I also meant to say thanks for all the kind words about texturemedia in the past. We’re sad to see this chapter come to an end, but we’re very excited about the opportunities ahead. Stay tuned…

  5. All of us at texture have given our respective pound of flesh to the company so it’s a bitter sweet announcement. None the less, it’s an honor to be picked up by such a respected industry juggernaut. Every texture employee (past & present) should be giving themselves a pat on the back.

Bring on the free lunch and bus rides… I’m stoked!

  6. powerhouse? Because crispin needed additional mediocre interactive employees for thr microsoft account and didn’t have time to hire them individually so they ‘bought’ the nearest thing to an agency within boulder city limits? No offense guys but I have the inside scoop on this deal and its more of a survival move for texture than a real coop. The financial terms aren’t good for texture and half their staff already wanted to leave becuse they are sick of commuting to boulder. Nice move crispin!

  7. Yep. Why the heck shouldn’t they give it a shot…the most kick @#% interactive agency in the near and far region with the likes of CP+B. Nice.

  8. With rumors that CP+B out sources its interactive work and I read that they recently won the BK interactive account, this move makes sense to keep the work in house with a proven, talent interactive team.

  9. any details of the deal? Will CPB be shipping everyone over to their building? Are the texture clients getting the boot? How much $$$ does a top shop go for these days?

  10. did you hear Staples acquired Corporate Express?

    Newsflash · Jun 18, 04:49 AM · #

  11. Damn. That breaks my heart. I’m bummed for the crew at Texture. They’ve been busting their asses for past few years…and for what? They can pretend to be excited about it, but the reality is that if they really wanted to work at CP+B, they would’ve already been there by now. RIP Texture. You’ll be missed. On the bright side…at least now Crispin will have the resources to update that shit-ass website of theirs.

  12. um… if texturemedia was a powerhouse, wouldn’t THEY be acquiring CP+B instead of the other way around? i heard texture was pretty much crispin’s production bitch anyway, so all this shows is that texture finally gave up the fight against better colorado agencies. good choice!

    realitycheck · Jun 18, 05:07 AM · #

  13. Hmmm, i guess that cool?
I know CP+B has Impossible doin some things too… ;) hehehehe.

  14. Does anyone know if there are going to be layoffs as they merge?? (We’re hiring.)

    Ivy · Jun 18, 05:50 AM · #

  15. CP+B should be honored to have such a huge influx of mega-talent working arm and arm with their Boulder team! Congrats TM – and keep up the fantastic work!

    Tracey V. · Jun 18, 05:57 AM · #

  16. Damn Ivy, you beat me to it! We’re also hiring any of those ex-texturemedia ASP.NET folks.

I love these acquisitions! First Creation Chamber, now texturemedia… who’s next?

    George · Jun 18, 06:14 AM · #

  17. George, you go ahead and take all the .net people you need. Send us the PHP/Ruby/Java badasses. BTW, peeps, Imulus is a great shop and they treat their team very well.

    Ivy · Jun 18, 06:23 AM · #

  18. FYI, texture was not a competitor of CP+B, in fact we worked on several accounts with them and they looked to us to fill a needed space in their interactive dept.

Thanks to all the lovers… and the haters.

  19. Good for CP+B , Texture does great work. Great people too.

Is that going to affect the texturemedia Flex-time Policy? My guess is yes

  20. Crispin hit the jackpot in acquiring such a talented group of skilled people. I wish everyone at texture much success – with this group, all positive things are possible. Texture – you kick ass!
