The King Dropping His Hard-Earned Cash For You
Burger King and their agency, Crispin Porter + Bogusky, are running a hot (not original, but hot), under-the-radar promotion in select cities right now, including Orlando and Chicago.
The scheme goes like this. Someone drops their wallet in a high-traffic pedestrian area. When an unsuspecting passerby picks it up and tries to return it to the BK agent, they respond, “Keep it. It’s on The King.” Inside, there’s a note from The King to keep the wallet, cash ranging from a $1 bill to $100 bill, a gift card to Burger King, a “driver’s license” featuring The King, and a map of Burger King restaurants in the area in which the wallet was dropped. (There are some great little detail on the license, so be sure to read closely.) The whole thing is part of BK’s reverse pickpocket campaign, we imagine. Good stuff in tough economic times from CP+B.

Nice work. A new twist on an old idea, and a nice tie in to broadcast. Brilliant.
