Gauging The Quality Of Your Work
We came across this comment in the Exhibition Section of the Ads of the World Forum.
It was posted by a member named “krautland” in response to an ad someone posted to be commented on. The ad is irrelevant, which is why we didn’t post it. However, the comment is something we should all apply more often to looking at our own work. krautland wrote:

solve the challenge below in 20 seconds flat.
ready? go.
explain to me (or yourself) how this is surprising, unexpected, absolutely positively stopping me dead in the street. me, who has seen a million ads in the last hour because I am your average urban resident. explain to me how this website name is going to stay in my head because the ad was so damn memorable.
done?
well, if you couldn’t do it in 20 seconds, kill this little puppy of yours and focus on a new one.
Does it have to be 20 seconds? Probably not. But if it takes you too long to come up with a rationale to justify your idea, the idea probably isn’t that great. Keep thinking.
(And if not seeing the ad he was commenting on is tweaking your OCD, you can look at it here.)
