Coming To The Party?
We made it an entire year without a single tire being slashed, without a single bag of dog crap being tossed on our front door and without a single knee cap being broken in half. And, by God, those things need to be celebrated, people. With beer. Free beer. Brought to you by the same jack-offs who tore into the bad and praised the great work in Denver over the last 365 days. So, come drink a pint or five on us. Meet the other 800 people who read The Egotist every day. And don’t forget that bag of dog crap. ‘Cause we might actually be there too. If you can find us…

I would, but Thursdays are the days that I collect all of my dog crap for the upcoming week’s revenge. It is sort of like my church. Drink a PBR for me though!

I’ll be there. It’ll be getting me to leave the bar that will be the problem…

Wish I could make it but can’t. Congrats on a successful year of opening eyes and dodging poop.

Unfortunately, 5-7:30 is the start of the second shift for hard working art directors and copywriters who try to make Denver suck less, daily.
Congratulations. Have fun.

I think we should all meet at the movie theatre instead and watch Sex and the City.

I will be there with my brown bag and white shoes.

You know, I have a theory about people. There are assholes and jackasses. Subtle differences indeed – but basically it comes down to this. You put two assholes in the room – and they’ll go at each other and tell each other to go blow and all sorts of crap. Enemies to the death.
Whereas you put two jackasses in the room – and they’ll give each other the same amount of crap – but they’ll be friends for life.
So in the spirit of being a jackass – and finding it damn hilarious that I have a super sweet new screensaver – I too will not invite you to my birthday.
and of course – two final jabs before i go off to sulk…
seriously – is that the best/worst quote you could find this past year? if so i feel pretty honoured to be recognized for not sucking up.
and of course – glad that a few of us have some guts (although according to my wife possibly stupidity) to use our actual names. i assume the rest of you don’t as you must be tired of wearing a name tag at your current jobs and find it thrilling to be super secret spy designers.
happy b-day. and look forward to the terrible twos…

Seriously let’s all extend our hands to one another before we piss all over eachother.
I thought that was pretty damn funny as I swear I have absolutely no recollection of writing that anywhere on this blog. Got caught up in the moment I guess.
Honestly, I have 2 classes outside of my dayjob and my blog now on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. I am a bit of a meathead and usually take my bottled up creative angst out on the weights between the hours of 5 and 7 so I might be doing that instead.
I would actually really like to meet some of the people behind the curtain here. For better or worse it has been a hell of a ride. You gotta give it that much as at least.

Stu – Hats off… you represent some of the true, ego-less class left here in denver.
Egotists – you continue to validate my inherent mistrust of strangers…

Oh sure – Andy gets invited because he wants to make out with you. And of course now Mindy is pissed at me because you zinged me before her – so let me know if you need the AIGA logo for that one.
But – for all the zinged – a toast to making Denver suck less, unless we’re talking about beers – then at times I think we should all suck more.
cheers.

Stuart—
We recently uncovered this little gem from one of your posts, which has us reconsidering your invite status:
“My apologies to the Denver design community for being a ranting ass for the last 24 hours.”
We’re a little concerned about the apology part of it, but show up tomorrow and we’ll discuss it civilly.

maybe, if I get over being afraid

I am a little nervous about it. It’s like meeting someone I’ve been dating online for the last 12 months for the first time.
