Considering that summer is nearing its end and another football season is upon us, we were wondering:

What’s your favorite Denver/Boulder dive bar to get a Sunday afternoon buzz?

  1. It’s pretty clean as far as dive bars go, but I say Sloan’s in Edgewater.

  2. It doesn’t really qualify as a ‘dive bar’ but Kiva, on 31st and Downing… When I’m hungover on Sundays, Kiva has my back with $2 mimosas, margs and bloodies…not to mention 98% of the waitstaff are gay and plenty of the clientele are drag queens so it’s almost always an interesting time

  3. Home. Sunday has become my day to learn my new barbeque hobby. 12 hours for a pork shoulder flies by when you have nothing to do except monitor the temp and drink beer all day.

  4. Three words: Candle Light Tavern.

  5. With parental duties on the weekend, I’ve been missing the Sunday buzz. But a good one from the past is the Bull and Bush. Cheap Bloodies. Good comfort food. Lots of sports on TV.

  9. I’m a fan of the Dirty Duck. Once you’ve been there, everywhere else starts looking like The Ritz.

  10. I don’t drink.
Except the 12-pack of Guinness I have every Friday night, slumped in front of a movie.
